Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that affects the breasts of men and women. Typically, women have higher rates of breast cancer incidence over men. The first symptom of breast cancer is a lump felt around the surrounding breast tissue. A physician often advises the patient to undergo a mammogram to confirm if the lump is cancerous or not. Positive signs of breast cancer include changes in breast size and shape, skin dimpling, nipple inversion or abnormal nipple discharges. Breast pain may or may not determine presence of cancerous growth. Screening for breast cancer is helpful to detect early stages of tumour formation. These include breast self-examination, x-rays, breast magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography scans.
