Emergency Services
Emergency services refer to organisations that ensure the safety of the public by addressing different emergencies. Emergency services, generally, engage in community awareness and prevention programs to help the public avoid, detect, and report emergencies effectively. Furthermore, the three universally acknowledged services, being core to the provision of emergency care are the police, fire service, and emergency medical service. The police functions by keeping the community safe and acting to reduce crime against persons and property. Further, fire service provides fire-fighters who deal with fire and rescue operations, and may also deal with some secondary emergency service duties, and medical service offers ambulances and staff during medical emergencies.
