Since the job descriptions of allied health professionals become more specialized, adherence to national training and education standards, professional scope of practice, and skills are important and these include obtaining diplomas, certified credentials, and continuing education in the field of allied health. In addition, it is of paramount importance for the members of the allied health professions to be proficient in the use of many skills including medical terminology, spelling, acronym, basics of medical ethics and law, understanding of human relations, counselling skills, interpersonal communication skills, documentation and interviewing skills, as well as proficiency in the use of word processing, database management and electronic dictation.
