Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is a type of cancer that affects the lungs. The abnormal growth of cells may be benign or malignant depending on the screening test results. This type of cancer can be further classified as non-small cell lung carcinoma, small cell lung carcinoma, and metastatic cancers. Typical signs of lung cancer include shortness of breath, hemoptysis, chronic coughing, wheezing, chest pain, eight loss, fatigue and loss of appetite, clubbing of fingernails and dysphagia. The primary cause of lung cancer is smoking, but other factors include exposure to radon gas, asbestos and certain strains of viruses. To prevent lung cancer, cessation of smoking and exposure to known irritants should be noted.
