Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that affects a woman’s ovary. There are no known causes of ovarian cancers, and it might not manifest with obvious symptoms. The four early signs of ovarian cancer include bloating of the abdomen, positive pelvic or abdominal pain, trouble eating or feeling full quickly and urinary symptoms such as frequent urination and/or pain when urinating. Like all cancers, ovarian cancer can be classified in stages where stage 1 is the earliest and stage 4 as the terminal stage of cancer. Treatment may include excision of the cancerous ovary through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Ovarian cancer has been known to have poor prognosis even after treatment because of the complication that it can metastasize to other organs.
