Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is a branch of medicine that deals with the rehabilitation of the patient through the use of physical modalities, exercise programs and other treatment techniques. The physical therapist often treats patients who suffer from cardiovascular, neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. The goal of physical therapy is to promote treatment and recovery and improve the overall body functions of the patient.  A patient undergoing rehabilitation may vary with other patients. Treatment modality and exercise techniques will depend largely on the type of disease and medical status of the patient. Returning to normal activities is the top priority of most physical therapy treatment. Motivating the patient to perform movements independently is also necessary in physical therapy.
