Taking Care of the Ears

Aside from allowing you to hear and be aware of the noises of the world around you, the ears are also essential for one’s sense of balance. If there is something wrong with our ears, our daily activities and functions will definitely be affected. Thus, taking care of this organ should be given careful attention.

On top of the list of precautionary measures to preserve your sense of hearing is to avoid exposing yourself to extremely loud noises. Whenever you visit the airport, keep an earplug in handy or if you are listening to music, keep the volumes at a minimum. Also, avoid inserting any object inside the ear canal. Along that note, do not clean the insides of your ears too excessively with cotton buds or balls. Lastly, schedule a regular hearing assessment annually and have your ear evaluated by a physician or nurse before it is too late.
